James S. Thew, PLS

Principal

Jim is a 1991 graduate from the University of Maine (Orono) with a Bachelors of Science in Surveying Engineering. He obtained licensure in New York State as a Professional Land Surveyor in 1996 and currently serves as a Principal with Thew Associates PE-LS, PLLC and Subsurface Utility Imaging, LLC.

In addition to managing and executing the traditional types of surveying and mapping projects (e.g. topographic, ALTA/ACSM Land Title, boundary retracement, subdivision, and construction), Jim also has extensive experience performing hydrographic surveying and mapping, structural deformation monitoring, ASCE Quality Level A, B, C, and D subsurface utility investigations, concrete investigations utilizing ground penetrating radar technology, and sediment sampling and analysis.

From 1997 through 2005, Jim served as the Drilling Division Manager for Atlantic Testing Laboratories, Limited responsible for the management and execution of land and water based subsurface investigations and geotechnical evaluations including soil boring advancement and sampling, sediment sampling, in-situ soil and rock testing, concrete and rock coring, and monitor well installation and abandonment.

Robert H. Korosec, PLS

Director of Subsurface Utility Services

Bob is a 1996 graduate from Paul Smiths College (New York) with an Associates in Surveying Technology.  He obtained licensure in New York State as a Professional Land Surveyor in 2005 and currently serves as the Operations Manager for Thew Associates PE-LS, PLLC and a Principal with Subsurface Utility Imaging, LLC.

Jeremy L. Sweeney, PLS

Director of Land Surveying

Jeremy is a 2002 graduate from Paul Smiths College (New York) with an Associates in Surveying Technology.  He obtained licensure in New York State as a Professional Land Surveyor in 2012 and currently serves as a Senior Project Manager for Thew Associates PE-LS, PLLC and a Project Manager with Subsurface Utility Imaging, LLC.

Michael P. Merithew, PLS

Director of Remote Sensing

Mike is a 2001 graduate from Paul Smiths College (New York) with an Associates in Surveying Technology.  He obtained licensure in New York State as a Professional Land Surveyor in 2012 and currently serves as a Senior Project Manager for Thew Associates PE-LS, PLLC and a Project Manager with Subsurface Utility Imaging, LLC.

Nicholas D. Gulla, PLS

Project Manager

Nick obtained licensure in New York State as a Professional Land Surveyor in 2013 and currently serves as a Project Manager for Thew Associates PE-LS, PLLC and a Project Manager with Subsurface Utility Imaging, LLC.

William E. Kelly, PLS

Project Manager

Bill is a 2010 graduate from the SUNY-ESF Ranger School with an Associates in Surveying Technology and a 2012 graduate from Alfred State College with a Bachelor's of Science in Surveying Engineering. Mr. Kelly obtained licensure in New York State as a Professional Land Surveyor in 2018 and currently serves as a Project Manager for Thew Associates PE-LS, PLLC.

Mark R. Williams, PLS, CH

Project Manager

Mark is a 2005 graduate from Paul Smiths College (New York) with an Associates in Surveying Technology.  Mr. Williams is a Certified Hydrographer and obtained licensure in New York State as a Professional Land Surveyor in 2019. He currently serves as a Project Manager for Thew Associates PE-LS, PLLC with a focus on water based projects.

Ryan is a 1998 graduate from Paul Smiths College (New York) with an Associates in Surveying Technology.  He currently serves as a Senior Project Manager for Thew Associates PE-LS, PLLC and a Project Manager with Subsurface Utility Imaging, LLC.

Cameron L. Wattles

Business Development Manager

Cameron is a 2012 graduate from Misericordia University (Pennsylvania) with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing.  He is the Business Development Manager for Thew Associates PE-LS, PLLC and Subsurface Utility Imaging, LLC.

He is primarily focused on building awareness around the firm’s diverse capabilities among prospective clients, and developing and maintaining relationships with current and past clients. Cameron is also responsible for marketing efforts, identifying project opportunities, and developing strategies for future growth.

Benjamin S. Hoffman, LSIT

PROJECT MANAGER

Ben is a 2013 graduate from Alfred State College with a Bachelor's of Science in Surveying Engineering. Upon graduation Mr. Hoffman obtained Land Surveyor in Training status after taking and passing the NCEES Fundamentals of Land Surveying exam and currently serves as a Project Manager for Thew Associates PE-LS, PLLC.

Keith W. Cardinali

Subsurface Utility Project Manager

Keith is a 2012 graduate from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry with a Master’s in Applied Ecology.  He currently serves as a Subsurface Utility Project Manager for Thew Associates PE-LS, PLLC and Subsurface Utility Imaging, LLC.

Keith has experience working on various civil and environmental remediation construction projects for industrial clients, providing construction management and consulting services in support of upland and wetland habitat restoration and monitoring, groundwater collection system installation and maintenance, culvert inspection and rehabilitation, and environmental resource delineations and assessments.

Keith specializes in managing Quality Level A and B subsurface utility investigations, concrete investigations utilizing ground penetrating radar technology, CCTV pipe inspections, and manhole scanning.
