Mark Williams, Project Manager with Thew Associates was notified by the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) and The Hydrographic Surveyors of America (THOSA) that he has met the requirements of the Certification Board to be registered as a Certified Hydrographer.
The program was established in 1981, and is cooperatively administered by the NSPS and THOSA to identify individuals that are qualified to conduct the rigorous hydrographic surveys needed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Office of Coast Survey under the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). There are approximately 300 individuals who have been certified as meeting the minimum five year experience requirement and core competencies of a professional hydrographer since the program’s inception in 1981.
“We are very proud of Mark’s accomplishment in achieving his goal of becoming a Certified Hydrographer” said James Thew, Principal of Thew Associates. “He has worked diligently to gain the requisite knowledge and experience to meet the NSPS’s and THOSA’s exacting standards to have been selected to sit for the exam. We are confident that with Mark’s certification and expertise, Thew Associates can continue to grow our Hydrographic Surveying offerings.”
